Movie Plot
This action adventure is faithfully adapted from the graphic novel 300 by Frank Miller in which Spartan King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his 300 Spartans fought to the last man against Persian King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his massive army. Facing insurmountable odds, the Spartans’ heroism and sacrifice inspires all of Greece to unite against the Persian invaders. The story is loosely based on the Battle of Thermopylae which took place in the summer of 480 BC.

The purpose why I put up different posters is simply because of how much I admire the beauty behind the graphics. Not only on the posters, but in the film itself. The entire cinematography truly fascinates me – the colours, the sets, the costumes, the art.
Even if you’re not a fan of war films, you should at least watch this film for its’ art. The CG were done smoothly, the colours binding the story is like watching the comic come alive.
The above portion of the pictures does not do any justice to what you see in the film.
This is one hell of a war film.
Definitely beating Sin City hands down, with the fight scenes.
Even if you may find yourself getting turned off by the content of the film (just by reading the synopsis only), you should at least sit in the theatres and watch how the soldiers fight the enemies – The choreography wins Zhang Yimou’s The Curse of the Golden Flower ’s fight scenes. In my own humble opinion, it’s probably how the director captures the fights.
The beauty behind slowing down the impact and the moves of the soldiers actually allows you to be amazed. It’s like a dance to victory (they were winning but you’d have to watch the movie to know what exactly happened). I love how each shot was taken – the panning, the zooming in and out, the fast forward and slowing down of the shots and most importantly, the colour tuning.

this is a kick ass movie. i can tell i have nover seen such a vitually real movie till date ……….. leave alone star wars, matrix and others ……… but this is exceptionally incredible. i am in love with 300. people who doesnt want to watch this movie are surely living a hypocratic life. this movie rocks

It`s a relly great movie. but somting importen in tihs movie is wrong. The historic. is not correkt anywere. persian did never send one miljon soldier tio grece. they were 200 000 only.The persina wasnet like they are in the movie, they wasent so smal and the grece wasnt som high. if the historic and averyting in the movie that is about persian and grece was correct it could be a very god movie..
this is actually the best movie i’ve seen in a while, the formations that take place and also the thought of how they defended all 300, with just sheilds from the raining arrows, clearly a must-see movie of the year folks
Ok Replying to an honest guy’s post….Realize this movie was based off of a novel/comic….Things aren’t going to BE historically accurate. It’s hard to make a film historically accurate but yet make it a box office hit. Look at Titanic…
Also replying to honest guys post U also have to realize that the numbers are 200,000 for the Persians and 1000 for the spartains but that dosent matter because
1: its just a movie(not a HISTORICAL DOCUMENT)
2: the #s don’t matter because its about the spirit of the spartan warriors and how they stared in the face of certain death and still stood up for there country that is what the movie is really trying to get to.
this is one hell awesome ,eleguent and hard rocking film guys, if u ever die without watching this film, u have wasted ur money on other films, see this one n u ll starting seeing again, till the end. woah, last scenes make u cry, intensely intensified. if i were in oscar jury i would give out of out oscars, obviously better than titanic. even u have boring moments in matrix reloaded but there is no single boring moment in this film. 300 rules for years.
This movie was absolutely awesome…one of the best. the actors were great and the graphics were incredible. The ending was also a sad one but the story behind it of of how they fought for their country with such few men, in certain death….incredible movie, Definitely recommend it.
